an email from Allison that may have been missed. Important!!!

It has been called to our attention that the addition of a professional meeting in the next year or so may be difficult for some people to accommodate.

The department has a goal of effectively preparing you to participate in your profession by being aware of and involved in your professional organization. We believe attending a professional conference exposes you to the profession in operation, places you alongside peers and future colleagues and lets you experience valuable continuing education. It is an optimal way to achieve our goal…Yet…

Inasmuch as it was not an activity/expense which you were anticipating and some of you have expressed that it would be difficult to accommodate, we would like to work creatively and collaboratively with you to achieve the professional preparation in an alternative manner.

If you believe that you will not be able to work out a way to attend a professional mental health conference by the end of Spring 2012, please let Dr. Hurley know and he will work with you to fashion an alternative learning experience. There are limited other opportunities to become aware of and engaged with appropriate mental health professionals. For example, there have sometimes been regional (no cost) meetings of professionals. The MAMFT Board meets periodically and sometimes has day long retreats. The MS Licensure Board meets periodically as well.

If you would like to work out an alternative professional exposure, contact Dr, Hurley.

International Dinner- Feb 18

Hello everyone!

There will be an international dinner on february 18 at 6 pm- location: patterson's porch. It will be a fun time of fellowship and awesome, diverse food! We have been blessed with so many different peers with very unique backgrounds, so we are going to celebrate that gift. It will be pot-luck style, so you are encouraged to bring a dish from your native state/country. Everyone is welcome!

See you there!

Calvin on the incarnation

"In short, since neither as God alone could he feel death, nor as man alone could he overcome it, he coupled human nature with divine that to atone for sin he might submit the weakness of the one to death; and that, wrestling with death by the power of the other nature, he might win victory for us." - p.466

"But we should especially espouse what I have just explained: our common nature with Christ is the pledge of our fellowship with the Son of God; and clothed with our flesh he vanquished death and sin together that victory and triumph might be ours. He offered as a sacrifice the flesh he received from us, that he might wipe out our guilt by his act of expiation..." - p.466
